A Time for Reminiscing and for Sharing

Welcome home to Albay High School of Polangui! Coming home although nostalgic, is always a joyous event. It was in April 2006 when we last met for our 1st homecoming and reunion. It was grant event if you will recall. At our age when we have fewer and lighter concerns, when our primary pre- occupation is simply to look good and to feel good, we should be meeting more frequently to recall happy moments. More importantly, let us gather more frequently to take stock of what good turns we can still do to each other and to our fellowmen in general.

For one thing, let us hearken the mute call of our Alma Mater. Part of our lifetime happy memories are those we had in high school. Albay High School of Polangui now PGCHS is one of the institutions that gave us good start in life. Like good children that we are of our mother school, let’s bring her good news about ourselves that she can be proud of during homecomings and reunions. More importantly let’s bring her a gifts as tokens of our gratitude for shaping us partly into the person we are now. Although, it probably would suffice for her to know we had contributed our share in building our society by way of the services we rendered thru our respective professions, but our thoughtfulness could extend beyond this. Our gifts could includes tangibles like physical structures, facilities and equipments, etc. which the high school students now and in future can avail of.

I enjoined you then to make this gathering not only a time for reminiscing but a time for sharing with our dear Alma Mater part of God’s blessing to us and to our respective families. The good Lord had granted us favors and earthly blessings. Plenty of them, if we look back and start counting. Some of us enjoyed these blessing in abundance so we can do good work and make charitable donations. Let the Albay High School of Polangui or PGCHS be one recipient of our benevolent acts. What assistance we can do for our youth’s education will be multiplied many times over. This is the paramount gift we can give our Alma Mater. Our gifts can be given now or the form of pledges. Lets make the last few lapse of our earthly journey meaningful to us and to the present and future generations of students of PGCHS. There are many ways to do this. This gathering can be a talking venue to hatch productive plans, do-able plans for our Alma Mater’s benefit.
